Taylor Custom Grand Symphony Acoustic Guitar Factory Hand Selected Wood - Queen's Walnut/Lutz Spruce
Taylor Custom Grand Symphony Factory Hand Selected Wood - Queen's Walnut/Lutz Spruce
This guitar is a special custom built Grand Pacific that we selected woods for with Andy Powers, Taylor CEO; during a factory visit. Andy Powers unveiled the redesigned Grand Symphony body shape with soundport cutaway and instantly created a classic! The new design delivers a hi-fi guitar with spacial sound with a comfortable string feel. Due to the unique needs of this design it has not been offered in the custom shop since not all wood pairings would work with it. During our factory visit Chris and Cooper collaborated with Andy Power to create a unique offering with some very special wood. Dubbed the "Queen's Walnut" this highly figured Claro Walnut comes from a very specific and special tree. There is very little wood left and thankfully this stunning piece was large enough to accomodate the GS body size.
Photos of the wood selection as well as video of the process is available.
