Taylor Guitars Launches the Legacy Collection
Taylor has not been a manufacturer prone to looking back and instead has focused on the next iteration of their guitars. With their 50th anniversary the time for reflection has come with the new Legacy Collection. Pulling from important eras in the companies past Bob Taylor was heavily involved in meticulously designing these new guitars that honor what made Taylor Guitars one of the premier acoustic guitar builders in the world.
The collection includes five models, the 810e, 855e, 815e, 514ce and 714ce. The 810, 855e and 815e harken back to the earliest era of Taylor Guitars. Featuring the early straight sided headstock, slotted diamond inlays, green abalone rosette and scalloped x-bracing, this trio of guitars returns to classic roots with classic shaped and a quintessential sound.
Moving forward in the companies history the 514ce and 714ce recognize the importance of the Taylor Grand Auditorium shape, a shape that has become so popular that it is quickly becoming on of the most copied shapes in the industry. A versatile guitar body, the use of cedar on the top and Taylor's renowned playability made these guitars quickly popular with musicians on the stage and in the studio. The more modern headstock shape is at home with the cutaway GA body and classic appointments.
While these models remind us of guitars of the past they are not true reissues as they feature the modern Taylor Guitar neck joint, formally called the NT neck and LR Baggs VTC pickups instead of the more common Taylor ES2. The first 100 model will be hand signed by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug.
