Steinway & Sons Family of Pianos | Essex & Boston Piano DEMOS

Steinway has become synonymous with piano quality through the years. It is also no secret that with that high quality comes a hefty price tag. Steinway created the Boston and Essex lines so they could offer new quality Steinway backed pianos at a lower price point than their traditional Steinway & Sons pianos. Boston and Essex Pianos are OEM products where another manufacturer, in this case, Kawai and Pearl River, have been commissioned to produce a line of pianos in partnership. Boston pianos are made by Kawai and Essex pianos are built by Pearl River. These pianos are billed as part of the “Steinway Family,” so today we take a deeper look and listen to try to discern what that means. Thanks for watching.
