HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION

Record a short excerpt of a guitar solo (1 minute or less) and post your video on one of these social media platforms:

• YouTube Shorts: @alamomusic
• Instagram: @alamomusic
• Facebook: @alamomusic
• TikTok: @alamomusictx

Tag @downtownwestsa and @alamomusic and include #AlamoGW2025 in your caption for your audition.

Once you post your rocking skills, the Alamo Music Team will reach out to you with further instructions on submitting your information for Alamo Music’s Guitar Wars. Following the submission closure, the Alamo Music Team will scour through ALL submissions and select 10 acoustic guitarists, 10 electric guitarists, and 5 bass guitarists. Those selected will be the finalists to perform live at the Alamo Music’s Guitar Wars Event at Legacy Park!

Note: If you would like to compete in more than one category, you must submit individual auditions for each. You may be selected for a single or multiple categories.

PERFORMANCE RULES

Performance Time: 2 minutes MAX.

• Solo Only: No backing tracks. All you front and center, but pedals and effects (including live looping) are welcome. We will have a selection of electric & bass amps and an acoustic DI, but bring your own guitar!

Play what you want. Any style, any genre. This is your chance to go all out!

You will be judged on a scale of 1 to 5 in three categories:

• Technique: Execution and precision. How well you play and command your instrument.
• Sound: We all know that tone is almost as important as skill. Show off the unique sound of your guitar!
• Musicianship: Show your feelings, phrasing, and expression. Even if you're playing a cover, make it your own! Originality is key.
